The ADA & Your Disability Identity

In celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) on July 26, 2015, the National Collaborative on Workforce and Disability for Youth (NCWD/Youth) is hosting a series of webinars aimed at ADA Generation youth (individuals with disabilities who have come of age since the passage of the ADA) and their allies.

As youth with disabilities transition into adulthood, a core competency is gaining an understanding of disability history, culture, and disability public policy issues as well as their rights and responsibilities. This youth-driven webinar will provide youth and their adult allies with an understanding of the rights provided under the ADA and its impact on youth disability identities.

Date: Friday, May 29, 2015
Time: 2:00 PM MDT - 3:30:00 PM MDT

This webinar will be led by:

  • Marissa Sanders: independent consultant and former Director of Training for the Mid-Atlantic ADA Center
  • Sara Moussavian: youth participant in NCWD/Youth’s Youth Action Council on Transition (YouthACT) YO! Disabled & Proud team
  • Alexander Miller: youth participant in NCWD/Youth’s Youth Action Council on Transition (YouthACT) Minnesota Thunder Cats team
