A Guide to Success: Serving People with Disabilities of Various Cultures

A free training presented by The Center for Persons with Disabilities at USU, the Sanderson Center, Human Capabilities, Utah Coalition Against Sexual Assault, and the Utah Domestic Violence Council.

Topics will include:

  • Assumptions, Stereotypes and Generalizations
  • Culture and Cultural Competency
  • Communicating with People who have Various Types of Disabilities
  • Service Animals and Other Accommodations
  • Effects of Violence and Trauma on Disability
  • Response to Victims with Disabilities 


Training 1: June 12th, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.; Wendover Community Center, 112 South Moriah Avenue, Wendover, Utah

Training 2: June 25th, 9:00 a.m. to noon, Ability 1st Utah, 491 North Freedom Blvd, Provo, Utah
